You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) and able to enter into a binding contract. By using GamFree Shield you confirm both.

The service is intended for people who genuinely want to stop gambling. It is not appropriate for use against someone else’s will, by a parent or partner without consent, or as part of any coercive arrangement.

You sign in with Google. We rely on Google to authenticate you; we receive your email address, your name and (if you have one set) your profile picture. You’re responsible for keeping access to that Google account secure. Anyone who can sign in as you can manage your subscription.

You can sign out of the app or the website at any time. Signing out does not end an active commitment lock (see Commitment lock below) and does not cancel an active subscription (see Subscriptions).

Subject to these Terms and (where applicable) your active subscription, we grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to install and use the GamFree Shield app on devices you own or control. This is a licence to use the software, not a sale.

You may not reverse-engineer, decompile or attempt to extract source code from the app, except to the extent that applicable law expressly allows it (and only in that case, to the minimum extent necessary). You may not redistribute the app, repackage it, or share your account with anyone else.

Merchant of record

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as the merchant of record. When you check out, you are entering into a payment relationship with Lemon Squeezy in addition to these Terms. Their terms and privacy policy apply to that part of the transaction.

Plans

You can start with a free trial or pick a paid plan (6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 5 years, or lifetime). Trial and plan terms are described on the pricing page. Recurring plans renew automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled.

Changes & cancellation

You can switch to a longer plan at any time. Cancelling a recurring plan stops future charges; protection continues until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, at which point the commitment lock ends with it (you can re-subscribe at any time). See the Refund Policy for refund eligibility. The short version is that we’re flexible for new purchases and case-by-case after that.

GamFree Shield’s defining feature is that, while a commitment term is active, you cannot disable protection from inside the app yourself. The off-switch is locked, and the only paths to lift the block before the term ends are:

• Emailing us a single-use reset code request (we issue codes on a case-by-case basis, with a deliberate pause built in).
• Allowing the subscription to lapse at the end of the period you’ve already paid for.

You are consenting in advance to that lock when you select a commitment term. The lock is the product. If you are not comfortable being unable to disable protection unilaterally, do not select a paid commitment term.

We may issue reset codes earlier when there is a genuine reason (verified loss of access, account error, or an emergency we can confirm). We will not issue reset codes simply because you have changed your mind, that is the lock working as designed.

GamFree Shield is a piece of software. It is not medical advice, therapy, clinical addiction treatment, or a substitute for any of those. If you are struggling with gambling, please also reach out to a qualified professional or a support service in your country, for example, GamCare (UK), NCPG (US), or your national equivalent.

We make no claim that GamFree Shield will cure addiction, stop you gambling permanently, or replace human support. Treat it as a piece of friction and accountability, useful, but not a complete answer.

You agree not to:

• Use the service in any way that breaks the law in your jurisdiction.
• Try to defeat, bypass or interfere with the blocking layers (running it on someone else’s device, doing it for them, or for research, is fine).
• Use the service to harass, surveil or coerce another person , including listing an accountability partner who hasn’t consented.
• Misuse the Telegram bot, flood it with traffic, spoof events, or impersonate other users.
• Resell, sublicense or otherwise commercialise the app.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that we believe are misusing the service. Where reasonably possible we’ll explain why first.

GamFree Shield is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep the four blocking layers robust, but no blocker can be perfect: browsers change, gambling operators register new domains every day, and any sufficiently determined user with administrator access to their own device can eventually find a way through.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising out of course of dealing or usage of trade.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you under or in connection with these Terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (lost profits, lost data, lost opportunity, gambling losses, or losses arising from any failure of the blocking layers).

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

We may update the app, the website and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be summarised here with a new effective date; significant changes that affect existing subscribers will be communicated by email. Continuing to use the service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms, if you don’t, cancel before the next renewal.

If you have a concern about the service or these Terms, please email support@gamfree.appfirst, we’d much rather resolve issues that way than have you carry one around. Nothing in these Terms affects any non-waivable consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence.
